I’m Really Boring.

Hey!!!!! How is everyone? What have you been up to this week? Can you believe that it is Wednesday? The week is halfway over! And I still have TONS of exams……yuck.

Yesterday, I took my first challenge exam. I opted for the Webpage design test, thinking that it would be easy. Well, I was sure wrong! Most of my grade will actually come from building my own website, which took about 3 hours to do. I had initially planned on taking two exams yesterday, but that one took up my entire afternoon! Fun stuff.

It has recently struck me how incredibly boring I am. I take tests, mope around the house, bake occasionally, and go to the gym. That’s pretty much it. And then I share it all with you guys, and throw in some random musings and stories for good measure…..:P

Speaking of stories, I happen to have a cute one. I’m a klutz and fall down….a lot. Every day, I go to the bread store to buy bread, cheese, lunchmeat, etc. There is this sweet, poor man in a wheelchair who sits outside the bread store every afternoon and chats with customers. He knows pretty much everyone, and everyone likes him. So anyway, he has noticed that I tend to trip a lot. Now, whenever I’m leaving the store, he says: “See you tomorrow! Be careful and don’t fall down on your way home!”. He also tells me if there is a lot of traffic on a particular day, so that I know to pay even more attention to my surroundings. Always watchin’ out for me! hahahaha

Here’s someone (or something) else who is always watchin out:

The only difference is that he’s watching out for himself, not me. πŸ˜€

Hope you all have a wonderful day!!!!

Homemade Stuff

Hey! Today’s post is gonna be sort of short because I’ve got a lot to cram in to the morning before I head over to the gym for my meeting with the nutritionist!

A quick recap of yesterday:

I took another final (4 to go!), and did pretty well on it!!!!!! Then, I went to the gym, had a strength training workout, came home, and did some more studying. Oh and I had a yogurt bowl that I absolutely loved for a snack! It had about 1/2 cup of plain yogurt, cinnamon, about half a caramalized banana and honey!!!!! Refreshing and tasty after a sweaty workout! πŸ˜€

I also made some homemade body scrub and did a hair rinse last night!!!!! They are both pretty basic and not very fancy, but they do the trick and I have soft hair and skin now! πŸ˜› Plus, its all natural for those who are looking for more natural beauty products!

Here’s what I did:

Body scrub:

I mixed 5 T rock salt with 1 T oil. After I had coated all of the salt in oil, I squeezed about half a lemon into the mix. You need to add the oil first otherwise the lemon will dissolve the salt. I then used this like a typical body scrub and it worked wonders! πŸ˜€

Hair rinse:

Not really a recipe here; I just heated up about 1 1/2 cups of water in the microwave until it was pretty hot but not boiling, and then added about 1 – 1 1/2 T of vinegar to the water. Then, after I shampooed, I poured the warm vinegar/water solution into my hair and let it sit for about 5 minutes, while I used the scrub. Then, I rinsed it out, and because I don’t usually enjoy smelling like vinegar, I used a little bit of conditioner in my hair! This really works well!!! πŸ˜€

Hope ya’ll don’t mind the random sharing of my body scrub/hair rinse. hahahaha

I’ll tell ya’ll how the meeting with the nutritionist went tomorrow!!!!!

See ya then!r

Nutella is Good.

Heeey!!!Β  What’s up??

I have one final down and 5 to go! I basically took the easiest one yesterday because I figured that I should get it out of the way so that I wouldn’t worry about it while studying for my other, more difficult tests. It was nice to be able to check something off of the list so early in the week, though!!!! Now, all I have to do is take the other 5 finals, and then order 6 challenge exams and take them! Then, I’ll officially be done with my sophomore year of high school!!!!!!!

Now, you all know by now that I love me a good circuit style workout, so when I found this one a couple of weeks ago on Jessica’s site, I couldn’t wait to try it out. Wow!!!! It was pretty stinkin’ tough!!!!!! Which means I get to bake some of her recipes and its ok if I eat an entire batch!!! πŸ˜€ Seriously though, if you’re looking for a good strength/cardio combo workout, check this one out!!!

So, by now you’re probably wondering about the title of this post, especially since I haven’t even mentioned Nutella yet. While we were in the States, a couple of our friends lived in our apartment, and apparentlyΒ  one of them bought some Nutella. I have absolutely no idea why it took me so long to try it out, given my love of both chocolate and nut butters, but last night I finally did and LOVED it!!! Now I know there are probably a TON of chemicals and sugar in this stuff, but it was AMAZING!!!! Don’t worry Dark Chocolate DreamsΒ  or even just plain ol’ peanut butter, I haven’t forgotten you and your place in my heart has not been taken. I’m sure there is room enough for everyone!!! hahaha new love. πŸ˜€

What is your favorite “flavored” nut butter????? Don’t make me choose between nutella or dark chocolate dreams, because I can’t!!!! I’d also love to try Mighty Maple someday soon!!!!! πŸ˜€

Well, I had better get to studyin’……

See ya’ll later!

More ADD Workouts

Hey! So glad ya’ll liked the monkey cake recipe!!!!!!! We did too apparently, because yesterday there were 12 slices and today there are 2! hahaha You just can’t go wrong with brown sugar+cinnamon!!!! πŸ˜€

So, if you remember, last week I shared my all-over-the-place cardio workout. Well, it seems that I like to mix it up with my strength workouts as well! Ya’ll know that I love a good circuit workout, and I’ve recently found a new one that’s AWESOME! Its a good total body workout that keeps my ADD brain happy!

Total Body Circuit

Set 1

  • 25 squats
  • 15 pushups
  • 50 jumping jacks

Repeat 3 times

Set 2

  • 12 burpees
  • 12 alt. lunges each side
  • 20 lying led lifts

Repeat 3 times

Set 3

  • 2 minute run
  • 1 minute plank

Repeat 3 times

And there ya have it! This takes me anywhere from 20 to 25 minutes. Usually I warm up for about 5 minutes on the elliptical or treadmill, so in the end, I have a 30 minute strength workout that keeps me from getting bored!!! Do you have any go-to workouts?Β

The funniest thing happened to me the other day as I was coming home from the gym. See, our apartment building has two sets of gates that can only be opened by key or if someone in the building buzzes you in. I got the outside gate to open with the key, but for some reason, the inside gate would not open. And the doorman was out for lunch, so he couldn’t let me in. Which means that I couldn’t actually get to the apartment. I was looking at this:

See that little thing that looks like two light switches? The top ones open this gate, and the bottom opens the outside gate. Just beyond that, are the stairs and the elevator. Wanna know how I got in? I used a broom and hit the top switch with the handle. Oh yeah. I broke in to my own building. I actually tried to get an action pic of me opening the door, but I didn’t set the camera in the right position, so all I got was a pic of the wall. Niiiice. Anyway, by the time I actually got in the apartment, I was laughing that this sort of thing only ever happens to me! πŸ˜€

Well, I had better get started on my actual school work………hope you have an awesome day!

Didn’t See that Coming

Heey everyone! Sorry for not posting yesterday…..I was out of the house all morning and didn’t get home until lunch….after that, I did some school!!!

Anyway, I have been HUGELY blessed! Remember how I was sending out corporate sponsorship requests last week? Well, we’ve heard back from one of the people and he has donated enough to pay for my ENTIRE tuition, plus part of my airfare! Wow!!! I was seriously speechless!!! It was a wonderful blessing, and it made my trip to Chicago feel even more real!!!! πŸ˜€

In other news, I have to try out a new sport or exercise type for my PE class…so we’ve been looking at some near-by gyms! Turns out that stuff that I see all you other bloggers out there doing, like Body Pump, Body Attack, RPM, etc, are all offered here!! So excited!! Hopefully I’ll be able to join a gym that has these classes!! hahaha

So in yet more completely random news, we just got a Burger King here! hahaha! I mean, one of the malls had one, but an actual BK restaurant opened up about 5 minutes from home on Sunday! The most exciting thing about that is that it is the only place here where you get free refills!!!! They give you a time limit though…….30 minutes after your order and you can’t get any more refills!! So you know that I sucked down major amounts of soft drink just to say that I got a refill in Brazil! hahahaha I’m so weird!! Its funny though, because a couple of years ago, when the first BK opened in the mall, the Brazilians thought that free refills were the weirdest thing EVER and didn’t really know how to react to them! Some people would bring days-old cups back and others would just stand by the soda fountain drinking and refilling their cups with Coke!!!! πŸ˜› Hence the time limit.

Oh, I STILL haven’t fixed my camera…….I’m just the teeniest bit scared to. I mean, the thing shut off and switched languages, and now I don’t really want to make matters worse……but hopefully it’ll be back up and running soon and I’ll be able to share pictures with ya’ll again!!!

Better be off….I’ve got a couple of tests to take!

What do you have planned for this weekend?

Go Grizzlies!!!!

Hey everyone!!!! Whats up???

I made my first attempt at homemade BBQ sauce last night…..and it was AWESOME!!!!!!Β  The only thing is that our condiments have more vinegar in them than they do in the states, so we had to cook the sauce a little bit longer so that some of the tanginess would cook out…..but after cooking it for a while, and pouring it over our meat, it was delicious!! Will definitely make again! πŸ˜€

Anyway, we had a very Memphis-themed night! After dinner, Dad hooked up the projector and watched the Grizzlies playoff game on the wall! Our friends, who went to the game, called us when they got there, so that was pretty cool! The only bad thing is that the game started at 9 PM here, and I’m apparently a grandma because I got tired and went to bed. I only found out who won this morning…. πŸ˜›

Well, in other news, yesterday I weighed myself. After 2 weeks of not gaining anything, I finally gained a half pound….which isn’t much, and just showed my how much I can eat. I’m so active anyway, it takes a lot for me to put on some weight. Like eating half of a 16 oz container of pb in the course of a week a lot. πŸ˜› So, while the past couple of weeks haven’t given me a huge weight increase, I think that they’ve still been learning experiences. I got to see the amount of food that I can really eat without even worrying about gaining any weight, which I believe will help me not stress out as much. So while at first, I felt a little dissapointed at not having gained much weight, I now think that it was God’s way of telling me to let go and live a little. πŸ˜€

Before I head out for the day, I want to say that I’m actually working on my camera, and hopefully will be able to post real pictures on here again soon!! πŸ˜€

Do you like basketball? If so, what team do you root for?

See ya tomorrow (hopefully with pictures!)!!

Edited to add: I thought that I had posted this in the morning……whoops!

What Motivates Me?

Good morning, everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend, and a good Monday as well!!! πŸ˜€ I wanted to let ya’ll know that I did in fact try out the scones and they were TASTY! My sister loved them as well, and informed me that the only reason she didn’t have another one today (it would be the 3rd day in a row) is that she doesn’t want to eat too many and get sick of them! hahahaha I’ve already got my eye on several (sweet and savory) scone recipes, so you’ll probably be seeing some more scones in the near future!!

About the vlog, I’m working on it, but there are a couple of things that I need to work out before I can film it. I’m hoping to have one posted soon, though!

Also, before I move to a more serious topic, I would just like to say that I found myself a new 20 minute kickboxing workout yesterday, that I loved!!!! Here’s the link for ya:

The other day, I came across an article (which I have yet to find again) that contained several questions to ask ourselves. One of the questions that stood out to me was: “What motivates me?”. I’ve got a lot going on in my head right now, what with school, the NSLC, and trying to gain weight (I did gain a half-pound this week! YAY! :D) so I asked myself what motivates me to work at those three so much. I’m not an extremely social person, yet for some reason I want to go to Chicago to spend a week and a half with a bunch of other teenagers that I’ve never met. For the longest time, I didn’t even admit that I had an eating disorder, but now I’m trying to get better. What motivates me?

I think two great sources of motivation for me are my family and friends and, first and foremost, my Savior. By studying my Bible, I am shown just how much God cares for me and that He’s always with me, even when I feel alone. Just the knowledge that He’s there makes me feel strengthened. My familyand friends are there for me even when I feel overwhelmed or get nervous about my scholarship application. They’re amazing and I’m so blessed to have them!

The rest of my motivation comes from my desire to seize every opportunity that I can to be a better person, to be the best person that I can be. My extreme stubbornness also helps, though. πŸ˜› Seriously though, when I realize that something is good for me, and decide to do it, I can be pretty self motivated!

So, what motivates you?

Hope you all have an awesome Wednesday!!!!
